This beautiful original hand painted section of french textile design is delicately painted in swags of roses.
Some marks and fading and pencil lines, the colours are still beautiful considering the age. I have put it inside an antique mirrored glass frame that no longer stands independently. It is probable that the lightest green on the swags is “Paris Green” an early pigment that contained chemicals such as arsenic to create the vibrancy. If you do decide to re-frame bear this in mind.
